1994 - Dr. degree (Ph.D.): Czech University of Agriculture Prague (Faculty Agronomy - Department of General Plant Production and Agrometeorology), Thesis: “Agroclimatological conditions of Czech hop growing areas and hops protection management systems.”
Professional experience: since 1988 Czech hydrometeorological Institute, Climatology section,
1991-1995: the Ph.D. student of the CUA in Prague,
1990-present: Head of Doksany Observatory,
since 2000 collaborating with Humboldt university of Berlin, project International Phenological Gardens.
Research topics: climate and weather monitoring, agrometeorology and phenology, remote sensing systems, drought assessment, fire weather assessment, crop modeling, climate change, land-atmosphere interactions, flux monitoring, meteorological observations; evaporation, evapotranspiration, soil temperature and moisture, soil freezing, wind.
